When It’s Bigger Than This
I wanted you to have this for the moments when carrying it quietly stopped working. — Andy
Sometimes the situation stops staying inside the situation.

It starts affecting:

your sleep,
your focus,
how present you feel with other people.

You keep functioning.

But part of you is still carrying the same emotional weight everywhere you go.

At some point, the question stops being:
“What is happening?”

It becomes:
“How long have I been holding this alone?”

That is usually the moment support starts to matter.

Not because you are weak.
Not because something is wrong with you.

Sometimes you simply get too close to what you are carrying to see it clearly anymore.

That’s why I sometimes point women toward BetterHelp.

Not as a promise that someone else can fix your life.

As a way to speak with a licensed therapist outside the situation — someone whose job is to listen, help you make sense of what you are carrying, and work through it with you.

If this has been taking more out of you than you keep admitting to yourself, you probably already know that more thinking is not the same as more support.
You do not need to untangle your whole life tonight.

But you also do not have to keep carrying all of it by yourself.

Still with you,

Andy
